For Indiana policyholders affected by flooding

For Indiana policyholders affected by September flooding

The Indiana Department of Insurance has issued Bulletin 266, which institutes a 60-day moratorium for cancellation or non-renewal of any insurance policy due to the failure to pay premiums for any policyholder directly affected by the flooding events of Sept. 3–4, 2022. Any penalty for late payment of premium should also be suspended.

Impacted counties are:  Jefferson, Ohio, and Switzerland.

The moratorium will last 60 days from the signing of Bulletin 266 on Oct. 17, 2022 (through Dec. 16, 2022). The Department expects insurers to apply this moratorium retroactively to the day before the disaster events occurred in each impacted area.
