For Indiana policyholders affected by March 31-April 1 storms

The Indiana Department of Insurance has issued Bulletin 268, which institutes a 60-day moratorium for cancellation or non-renewal of any insurance policy due to the failure to pay premiums for any policyholder directly affected by the tornadoes and severe storms  that occurred on March 31 and April 1, 2023. Any penalty for late payment of premium should also be suspended.

Impacted counties are: Allen, Cass, Clinton, Howard, Johnson, Morgan, Owen, Sullivan, and White.

This moratorium will last 60 days from the signing of Bulletin 268 which was April 4, 2023. The Department expects insurers to apply this moratorium retroactively to the day before the disaster events occurred in each impacted area. The moratorium is in effect March 30 – June 2, 2023.
