Grinnell Mutual names Hutchinson Vice President

Michelle Hutchinson, Grinnell Mutual’s chief audit executive (CAE), has been promoted to vice president and chief audit executive of the company’s Assurance, Advisory, and Accounting division and will join the company’s senior leadership team.

Hutchinson joined Grinnell Mutual in 2013 after careers at Principal Financial Group and Aviva USA. Her previous positions at Grinnell Mutual include director of Audit Services and interim CAE. She has served as the CAE since June 2019.

“I feel very fortunate for the opportunity to lead at a company that is proactive about change while continuing to value business relationships and maintain a family-like company culture second to none,” Hutchinson said.

“Michelle has done an outstanding job leading both our internal auditing operations and the accounting and tax services that are available for our mutual members” said President and CEO Jeff Menary. “She engages not only her team, but the internal departments she works with. Her innovative, collaborative style is representative of her abilities as a servant leader.”

Hutchinson has Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and in Management Information Systems from Iowa State University. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Certified Information Systems Auditor designation.
