Report a Claim

Report a Claim

For when things don't go according to plan.

What information do I need to file my claim?

When you report your claim, please include the following:

  • Your contact and policy information (name, phone, email address, physical address, policy number)
  • What happened?
  • When did it happen?
  • Who was involved?
  • Were there any injuries?
  • What property was damaged? (e.g., vehicles, buildings, etc.)

When you report your auto claim directly to us, we'll ask a series of questions to determine whether your vehicle is repairable or a total loss. This streamlines the process by allowing us to assign it to the appropriate adjuster right from the beginning.

Personal policies

If it's an auto claim:

  • Make sure no one is injured and that 911 has been alerted.
  • Once you’re in a safe place, exchange information with others involved in the accident. Never discuss responsibility for the accident unless you’re speaking with law enforcement.
  • Record the facts: Date, time, and location of the accident; names, addresses, and telephone numbers of anyone involved, including witnesses; and descriptions and license numbers of other vehicles involved.
  • Call 877-467-2252 or file online.
  • Glass claims are handled separately by Safelite AutoGlass.

If it's another type of personal policy:

Business policies

  • After you’ve experienced a business loss, document the incident as best you can, ideally with photos, receipts, and documents related to emergency repairs.
  • If one of your employees has been injured on the job, you’ll want to report a workers’ compensation claim immediately, including your state’s First Report of Injury form.
  • Contact law enforcement and emergency services if  warranted — it’s better to be safe than sorry.
